Santa Barbara Bowl
California’s most beloved outdoor venue, the historic Santa Barbara Bowl, presents Young The Giant performing songs from their 6th studio album touring in support of on Saturday, July 18th, 2016 as part of the Victory Garden Tour. The iconic Young The Giant will be joined by two other top notch alternative rock acts, Cold War Kids and KennyHoopla, on this very special night of music.
Los Angeles-based alternative rock band Cold War Kids along with KennyHoopla will join Young The Giant at this historic venue. The album which was recorded by Brendan O'Brien at Henson Studios was written while the band was on extended retreats in Idyllwild and Joshua Tree. This new material will join other songs in the band’s impressive repertoire of hits such as ‘Mind Over Matter’ which will receive a huge reaction from the crowd.
Any money raised from Saturday’s show will be added to the money raised so far from the Victory Garden Tour for REVERB’s Sustainability and Food Security programs.
Gates open at 5pm with music kicking off at 6pm. $30 per vehicle for parking held at Santa Barbara High School.

The doors will open up at 5:00pm and the music will start at 6:00pm. This show will be part of the Victory Garden Tour. The concert will be powered by REVERB and will raise money for carbon offset projects, food insecurity programs and other ecological projects by donating proceeds from ticket sales. The show will be all-ages and a Goldenvoice presented show featuring 3 of the biggest alternative/indie bands performing at the best outdoor venues across North America.
A return to their roots, Southern California natives Young The Giant brings their show to feature all of the powerful energy and emotion of their hits such as “Cough Syrup,” “My Body,” “Islands,” and “Mind Over Matter.” With 15 years of brotherhood, the band creates deep connections with their fans in every show. The 6th album by Young The Giant, “Victory Garden,” is a return to their indie-rock roots with the production of the legendary Brendan O’Brien at Henson Studios. Young The Giant spent time on retreat in Idyllwild and Joshua Tree while writing the new album.
First, Cold War Kids will take to the Santa Barbara Bowl stage as the co-headliners for the night. As an alternative rock band they are known to produce hard-hitting songs that incorporate elements of soul, blues, and folk into their distinct sound. By performing some of their most passionate songs such as “First, You Can’t Miss Your Chance,” “hairless, headless,” “After the Falls,” and many more.
The opening act for the Victory Garden Tour is KennyHoopla. KennyHoopla is an alternative rock artist that brings a blend of raw energy of punk and the complex song writing of alternative rock to the stage
This show will be held at the beautiful Santa Barbara Bowl, located in the middle of the beautiful Riviera area at 1122 N. Milpas St, Santa Barbara, CA 93103. The Bowl is an outdoor amphitheater with incredible acoustics with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. It has a seating capacity of 4,562 with the main floor as General Admission and tiered reserved seating in the actual Bowl. The venue is completely accessible for all with disabilities. The Bowl will have a variety of food and also a variety of beverages including those with alcohol that can be purchased in stands throughout the venue. Those 21 and over with proper ID and a wristband can have alcohol. One sealed, plastic water bottle of 1L or less per patron, or an empty, reusable bottle per patron will be allowed into the venue. For the Victory Garden Tour, Young The Giant will be performing in outdoor venues across North America as part of an all-ages show to cater to fans of all generations. The shows will be presented by Goldenvoice, the same company behind the popular Coachella Festival. The venues will typically be in an outdoor setting with lawn seating and be able to accommodate fans who wish to bring food and/or to purchase it from vendors on site. General admission will be on the lawn and there will also be reserved seating in the stands. Tailgating, consumption of alcohol in parking lots, picnics and use of amplified sound in parking lots will not be permitted. Fans can expect to pay approximately $30 per car to park at a Santa Barbara High School lot (entering via Anapamu St. or The Armory via Nopal St.). The lots will close 30 minutes after the end of the show. There will be limited free street parking available in the Santa Barbara area.
